Stefanie and Tracy met in November 2011 in Pensacola, Florida, and began dating that following July. They tied the knot on October 3rd 2013, and have been inseparable since day one.
Tracy is originally from West Monroe, Louisiana. Stefanie is from an Air Force family where she spent her childhood in Germany and Italy. They currently live in Fort Walton Beach, on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida. They have two kittens, but also plan on expanding their family even more within a few years.
Stefanie writes: “Tracy inspires me every day with her brilliant creativity and talent; she is a wonderful singer/songwriter, gifted guitar player, avid surfer, and the list goes on. She pretty much does everything I dream of doing! She excels at anything she puts her mind to, and I truly admire her unwavering desire to learn and raw passion for life. Tracy’s energy and spontaneity have helped me ‘slow down’ and appreciate all of the small moments in life. I am so thankful to have her by my side.”
Tracy writes: “Stefanie inspires me with her positivity and her drive. Every single day she wakes up with a smile on her face and no matter what kind of day she’s had, she still has that smile. She has this incredible way to make every situation a positive experience. I wish I had that super power! She works so incredibly hard not only at work but in life. Even after working all day, she makes the time to take graduate level courses and volunteer with local youth. I strive for that kind of drive and motivation. She completes me in every way.”
They like to keep their relationship fresh by cooking together. It allows them to have fun, enjoy conversation, and work as a team. They also enjoy walks on the beach because they both love being close to nature. While they are total opposites in personality, they help each other grow as individuals and ignite their strengths as a couple.
Since DOMA’s demise and the Department of Defense extension of benefits to same-sex spouses, they were married in New York, Tracy gained access to military spouse benefits and was even able to receive a MyCAA scholarship towards her degree.
“AMPA is our premier resource of information specific to OUR lives. It’s amazing how many people all across the world share similar experiences to ours. Virtually any question we have had, someone else has already asked or answered on AMPA. We are so thankful for the up-to-date, relevant guidance and support system AMPA provides. AMPA is more than just a Facebook page. We have a ‘fAMPAly’ of people advocating on our behalf. They are the ‘boots on the ground’ representing our cause and fighting for our rights. Whether on Capitol Hill or major news stations, we know our voices are being heard.”
