Member of the American Military Partner Association Board of Directors
Alicia Hinds Ward (Clinton, MD) is an accidental Corporate Executive in Government Contracting and Support Services at a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). She almost exclusively hires veterans and military spouses and focuses her work on the military and veteran community.
Recently inducted as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member of the Continental Who’s Who Registry of National Business Leaders, she has devoted her time and passion to educate and prepare veterans for life after service in all areas. Her legal background lends itself to her work in disability policy and benefits, government policy, military crisis management, and other areas. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
Alicia is new to the AMPA Board of Directors but is not new to AMPA — having been an ardent supporter for many years. She personally understands many of the challenges facing the LGBTQ military community. One of her MilKids identifies as LGBTQ.
As a National Guard spouse, Alicia was named the 2013 Armed Forces Insurance® Military Spouse of the Year thanks in part to her featured work with the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), military family resource development within the Air National Guard community, and other community education and outreach organizations.
Alicia also co-founded the SHARE Food Network on Joint Base Andrews, which she still coordinates, and supports the 113th District of Columbia National Guard as a volunteer Key Spouse and mentor.
Alicia and her husband Edwinston, a senior non-commissioned officer in the Air National Guard, have three sons who help her create kitchen confections and will taste-test her upcoming cookbook.
Alicia attended Howard University in Washington D.C, and Kaplan University in Legal Studies and Alternate Dispute Resolution. She is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland University College pursuing an MBA.
