Can you believe it’s almost here? The buzz and excitement keeps building about the biggest LGBT military event of the year — the 4th Annual AMPA National Gala, presented by USAA and Comcast NBCUniversal! We can’t wait to celebrate and honor our modern military families at #AMPAGala2017.

Here are five tips to make sure you’re ready for the big event:

1. Grab Your Ticket

First, and foremost, make sure you grab your ticket! You can get them at: http://militarypartners.org/gala/
If financial concerns have stopped you from getting your #AMPAGala2017 tickets, PLEASE do not hesitate to REACH OUT to us at partners@militarypartners.org. We’ll do our absolute best to help.

2. Confirm Your Reservations & Travel Plans

Planning to Fly? No matter how close it is to the gala, there’s still a chance to score deals to the celebration! Get your hands on the Hopper app to get notifications about prices and the best time to buy! And don’t forget, American Airlines is an #AMPAGala2017 sponsor, so support those who support us!

3. Pick an Outfit

When it comes to getting dressed up be sure to look sharp! If you are a servicemember, feel free to rock your formal uniform! Otherwise, step outside your normal routine and get a little dressed up. It’s prom season, so keep your eyes peeled at favorite outlets like Ross, Kohl’s, & JCPenney to pick up your formal necessities. There are great options at Rent the Runway too.

4. Stay Connected on Facebook

Make sure to stay connected by clicking “going” on the gala event page and stay active within our private network group, which you can join at http://militarypartners.org/join/! This is a great way to see who is coming and stay updated on other events or gatherings that weekend.

5. Bring A Smile

The annual gala is an opportunity to meet fellow AMPA members, celebrate as a “fAMPAly,” and learn more about issues affecting our modern military families. There will be plenty of photo ops, so be prepared to shine that smile. We can’t wait to see everyone in our nation’s capital on May 13th!

P.S. Want to bring the kids along? There will be on-site childcare available. You must register the kiddos in advance by purchasing childcare tickets at http://militarypartners.org/Gala/. The cost is only $25 per child.
